RainVane

Pamela Marshall
Scottsdale, Arizona

steel
60" x 36" x 2"
created 2002

One of a series of triangular fountains, RainVane's water runs up both sides, across the top and down in a liquid sheet, crossing at the bottom and creating a disc-shaped pattern on the rocks before flowing back up again. Observers comment on its seemingly magical simplicity and grace.

Just after installation, the sun welcomed RainVane. The light waterfall puzzled the birds in the bushes - it seemed to come from nowhere - but they'd catch on soon enough.

For now, let it rain.

For one of your own ...
