Steel Door
 Commission Private Collection Scottsdale, Arizona, Arizona steel 94" x 62" x 2" created 2009 Designed by Kristine Woolsey of Woolsey Studio, Kevin built this door for a Scottsdale, Arizona, home out of steel, adding some welcome refinements. The second "porthole," or donut, down is a window. Kevin designed the third porthole to serve as a handle. See how Kevin made them in the first video below. Each "flat" panel is actually slightly bowed to shed water, with each overlapping the panel below it for the same reason. The finish is rust with a linseed oil coating - learn more about it in the second video below.
