UP AND AROUND

Kevin is enjoying working on some commissions as well as a curvy creation as the weather heats up ...

BackFlip

Private Commission
Phoenix, Arizona
Steel
87" x 16" x 16" 2008

Eager to have a signature sculpture grace the front of their 12,000 square foot home on the southwest slope of Camelback Mountain, a Phoenix couple commissioned Kevin to create a piece that looks striking from the interior of the house as well as from the street, without obstructing their amazing view of the city.

The result is BackFlip, shown here shortly after her three sections were joined to push her to her 7'3" height.

After she gets her powder coat of deep red, she'll be installed for all of the city to see.

Abloom

Private Commission
Phoenix, Arizona
Stainless steel
47" x 15" x 15" 2008

As you walk inside the Camelback mountainside home mentioned above, a generous entrance way offers a long, curved wall with a graceful shelf. There will sit Abloom, upon her completion.

Here she is, still clamped together prior to welding. Afterward, she'll get a nice polishing before installation.

Ciuffo

Steel
2008?

Although he has created pieces with severe angles, Kevin loves to make metal flow.

That certainly is the case with this piece currently in progress. Light as a thought and graceful in its rise to the skies, Ciuffo (which means "wisp" in Italian) shares her joy.

With the main body clad, Kevin focused on Ciuffo's base, which is shown here.

CrissCross

Landra and Bill Cross
Phoenix, Arizona
Steel
2008

Kevin's delightful take on a vine for the Cross's entrance has finally claimed her name, CrissCross. As you can see, a local resident has taken up residence in CrissCross's arms.

After powder coating, a few little touch ups after installation (painting the anchors screws the same color as the wall) will complete her.

Might you have such a piece in your future? A unique sculpture, fountain, windchime or other piece - made just for you or one already available in Kevin's studio - makes your home or office a truly special place.
