"Kevin ... understands that sculpture is about rhythm and movement.... He has an intellectual engagement, a sense of making the sculpture work ... using the principles of design that have been time-honored through art history."
--Michael Stack, Professor of Art, Pima Community College East Campus, Tucson, Arizona

PHOTO GALLERIES

The next best thing to visiting Kevin's studio is seeing what he's up to online, whether it's through videos or still photos. You'll find lots of the latter here - we hope you enjoy them!
Kevin's Excellent Adventure Photo Gallery
One of the ways Kevin finds inspiration for his work is riding his motorcycle. "While my mind is focusing on the road," he explains, "ideas are percolating in the background." In the summer of 2009, Kevin took a 7,600-mile journey on his BMW R1200 GS bike. It took him to 18 states in two countries. This gallery shares photos of his adventure.

Loveland Sculpture Shows 2009 Photo Gallery
Loveland, Colorado, is well-known for its devotion to sculpture. In addition to its Benson Sculpture Garden, this city has two sculpture shows annually, Sculpture in the Park and the Loveland Sculpture Invitational.

In August 2009, sculptor Kevin Caron visited the shows and the garden. "Both were in lovely settings, adjacent to one another," Kevin observes.

The shows are complimentary yet different. Sculpture in the Park allows artists to have a limited number of pieces, supplies the displays and takes a percentage of sales. The invitational also supplies tents, participants pay a larger entry fee but no commission, and can show as many pieces as they wish in their own display."

Sculpture-on-Campus Installation Photo Gallery
Two of Kevin's pieces, Aspire and DNA, were selected for Pima Community College's 2005 Sculpture-on-Campus initiative at its East Campus. "Thank you ... for allowing Pima Community College to work with you to bring a large, diverse audience to your art," writes Campus President Raul Ramirez, Ed.D., in his notification letter. "We are proud of this public art endeavor and highly value your crucial contribution to its continued success."

These photos share the installation and dedication of the pieces on the PCCEC East Campus.

Kevin's designs got a welcome reception, according to Mike Stack of the Pima Community College art faculty, who has worked at museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art. "The committee loved the pieces," he says. "We're excited to have them." Stack added that Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup and the City Council are pleased that the East Campus initiative is bringing art to the east side of the aesthetically inclined city.

Originally built in 1947 as a car repair garage, Kevin's studio is certainly eclectic. Enjoy these photos of it as he continues to tweak it to his needs.

Wild Dreams Show Photo Gallery
The "Wild Dreams" show was held Thursday, October 13, 2005, followed by a "second landing" reception on Thursday, October 20, both as part of Scottsdale's ArtWalk. The show was held at Pearson & Company, Scottsdale's premier indoor and outdoor landscape decorator, with delicious food by caterer Just Great Food. The show's beneficiary, Wild At Heart, had several representatives at the show, but the human ones were clearly overshadowed by the birds they brought....
