Rust Devil, a Garden Bell by Kevin Caron RUST DEVIL

CityNorth, LLC
Phoenix, Arizona
Steel
71" x 30" x 33"
49 pounds
2006

Rust Devil blows a bit of joy into any location, much as do its cousins, the dust devils that kick up their heels in the desert, whirling dirt into a lively swirl before disappearing as quickly as they came.

This fellow, though, is far more lasting and sturdy, and offers some delightful tones when struck with any of its three strikers.

Rust Devil helped set the, uh, tone as part of the incredible groundbreaking of the 5.5 million square foot CityNorth mixed-use development in north Phoenix on November 15, 2006, with sand being poured down the sluice as the song "Let's Get Started" kicked in.
