MARY'S WORK - TUSCAN HILLS
Collection of Renee RoussoParis, France
10" x 16"
Lithocut
2005
Created at Vagliagli in Tuscany during an Art on Paper workshop at Il Chiostro, this print was inspired by the rolling hills that surrounded the villas in which we stayed. Dotted with olive trees and grapevines and punctuated with cypress, the vistas never seemed to be able to be adequately captured on film.
Although the stark black and white of the print is the antithesis of the soft greens of the landscape, the piece caught the eye of several people, including Renee Rousso, who now has one of the series of three at her home in Paris.
