Installing the Public Art Sculpture The Seed

Installation of Kevin's public art commission sculpture The Seed involves lifting the 16-foot-tall aluminum sculpture up onto the top of a 12-foot-tall doorway popout in the four-story-tall lobby of Chandler, Arizona's Tumbleweed Recreation Center. The rigging team uses a bucket lift, a hoist, brute strength and engineering savvy to lift the three-part sculpture into place, but not without a little suspense....
