How to Create a Sculpture, Part 8: Attaching the Base May 16, 2012 Kevin is ready to attach more exterior "skin" panels to his public sculpture Wherever You Go, There You Are, but he needs to flip it over or stand it up to reach them all. That means it's time to attach the base, so he can weld it on and affix the panels around it. In this free video, he shows how he designed the base for stability and shares a little trick to mark the cut outs. Then he gets out the plasma cutter and makes some sparks. |
|

With six of the sculpture's 57 panels in place, he has a long way to go .... Click here to watch the sculpture - titled Wherever You Go, There You Are - develop. |

The notches will accommodate 1/4" square metal stock to stiffen the sculpture and give it strength. Click here to watch the sculpture; titled Wherever You Go, There You Are; develop. |
