Lighting sculptures printed in translucent filament was a natural progression in Kevin’s practice. This sculpture was part of another sort of progression, as height, width, base and other aspects of this form were tweaked before arriving at Fingerlite.
It was invaluable to be able to print each iteration until it was aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound. Fingerlite then led to the larger sculpture SuperSize. Fingerlite, however, is printed in the ultimate translucent filament: “clear.”
